Oman Heads GCC Trade, Industry Undersecretaries Meetings in Salalah

Salalah:  The 57th preparatory meeting of GCC commerce undersecretaries and the 43rd preparatory meeting of GCC industry undersecretaries were held in Salalah today.

The meetings were chaired by Dr. Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry.

The meetings discussed topics on the agenda of the GCC undersecretaries, including means of addressing the challenges of intra-trade among GCC countries, facilitating trade exchange and reviewing developments in commercial laws.

The meetings looked into the activities of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Entrepreneurship Committee, the Internal Trade Committee, and the Foreign Trade Committee.

It also took note of the latest developments in negotiations on free trade agreements with countries and international blocs. The meetings also discussed options for finding a uniform definition of the Arab Gulf national product and its standards, as well as executive regulations for the Unified Industrial Regulatory Law, among other issues.
