Inauguration of the 13th Edition of Oman Health Exhibition and Conference
Muscat: The 13th edition of the Oman Health Exhibition and Conference was inaugurated today by His Highness Sayyid Mohammed bin Thuwaini bin Shihab Al Said, in the presence of dignitaries and diplomatic representatives in Oman. This prestigious event brings together over 120 international and local hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical, and medical organizations.
The inauguration ceremony featured welcome speeches by Dr. Said Al Mughairy, Director of Quality Control and Patient Safety at the Ministry of Health in Oman, and Mr. Mohamad Ali Abu Bakar, Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council. Both speakers emphasized the significance of such events in building a robust medical sector that prioritizes patient needs and satisfaction.
Dr. Said Al Mughairy highlighted the remarkable growth of the event, stating, “The event this year has grown by 38% compared to the 2023 edition, with new international participations from 11 countries including India, Thailand, Iran, Indonesia, Egypt, Jordan, the UK, Germany, and Oman.” He also praised the collaboration between the private and government sectors in showcasing Oman’s healthcare capabilities through the new ‘Treat in Oman’ pavilion, which features 12 local private establishments such as Aster Hospitals, Gulf Specialized Hospital, Bella Nova, Future Health, and Oman Rehabilitation Center, among others.
This year’s event has seen increased participation from Thailand and Iran, as well as the introduction of a new pavilion from Turkey, hosting six organizations. The Indian pavilion remains a highlight of the event, with more than 250 square meters of display space representing 30 hospitals and medical entities.
In parallel with the exhibition, a CPD-certified conference is being held, featuring 62 speakers, six panel discussions, and 40 keynote presentations. The conference will cover a range of topics including medical tourism, insurance and finance, quality control, education and talent development, and medical technologies and innovations.
The event is expected to welcome more than 10,000 visitors and delegates.
