Oman Hockey Association launches the Athletes Preparation Centers project

Muscat: The Oman Hockey Association inaugurated today the Athletes Preparation Centers project. With the aim of developing the sport of hockey and providing clubs and teams in various categories by discovering talents and refining their skills, and establishing a competitive sports generation in the game.

The inauguration ceremony was held under the auspices of His Excellency Basil bin Ahmed Al-Rawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth.

The federation signed a partnership with 13 clubs, namely: Al-Seeb, Oman, Muscat, Ahli Sidab, Qurayyat, Sohar, Al-Nasr, Salalah, Al-Ittihad, Al-Nahda, Al-Salam and Nizwa. Sports to raise the efficiency of its performance and increase the effectiveness of the sports performance system, as well as within the strategy of Omani sports and the vision of “Oman 2040”.

Saeed bin Khalfan Al Maamari, Chairman of the Athlete Preparation Centers Committee, explained in the federation’s speech that the federation seeks to develop male and female hockey players in clubs and elevate them, establish a competitive sports generation, highlight more talents among young people, and develop clubs in the game. Hockey, where the project aims to support emerging sports clubs and teams by discovering talents and refining their skills, then including them in the ranks of the national team to represent the country in various foreign tournaments.

The ceremony also included a visual presentation on the mechanism of work of the centers and the support that the Omani Hockey Federation will provide to the clubs with which the partnership has been signed, and the mechanism of supervising the work of these centers and programs.

His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth said in a press statement: The ministry is currently working on the new sports strategy, and within this strategy is to develop youth sports in coordination with federations, and these centers work in sports clubs as a first stage and then move to the stage of school sports It is an integrated chain from schools to sports centers in clubs, then to federations through the establishment of competitions and leagues and the follow-up and supervision of the Ministry.
