Oman hotels revenues jump by 117.6% to OMR 95.3 Million


Muscat: Revenues of  3 to 5-stars hotels in the Sultanate of Oman recorded a remarkable increase of 117.6% by end of July 2022 to reach OMR 95.332 million, while the occupancy rate of these hotels reached 25.4 percent, according to the monthly statistics for tourism indicators issues by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.

The monthly statistical bulletin of tourism indicators issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information indicated that the total number of hotel guests increased by 45.4 percent to reach by the end of last July 903,000 guests , compared to the same period in 2021, which the number of hotel guests stood at 620,979.

The statistics showed that the number of GCC hotel guests registered a remarkable growth of 1,187.9 percent to reach 88,479 guests until the end of July 2022 compared to 6,870 guests during the same period in 2021, followed by European hotel guests registered an increase of 703.2 percent to reach 193,644 until the end of July 2022 compared to 24,109 by the end of July 2021, while the number of Omani hotel guests dropped by 7.1 percent from 447,659 to 415,711.

The number of American hotel guests until the end of last July reached 30,210, an increase of 191.6 percent compared to the same period in 2021, and the number of hotel guests from the African continent reached 4,682 inmates, an increase of 103.3 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

The number of Asian hotel guests also increased by 33.4 percent from 83,736 until the end of July 2021 to 111,703 by the end of July.
