Acting Commander of Royal Navy of Oman Receives Commander of Indian Western Naval Region

Muscat:  Brigadier General (Navy) Jassim bin Mohammed Al Balushi, Acting Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), received today at Al Murtafa’a Camp Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Commander of the Western Naval Region of the Republic of India, and his accompanying military delegation.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on maritime affairs. Several military topics related to cooperation and coordination were also discussed.

As part of the visit, Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan and his accompanying delegation toured the Maritime Security Center, where they were received by Brigadier General Adel bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Head of the Maritime Security Center.

During the visit, the Indian naval commander was briefed on the roles and responsibilities of the Maritime Security Center and its efforts in maintaining maritime security and safety of navigation within the Sultanate of Oman’s maritime zones. He also reviewed the center’s facilities and the advanced technologies and systems used to support maritime monitoring and security operations.
