Oman Innovation Festival Kicks Off

Oman Innovation Festival begins today

Muscat: HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, presides over the opening ceremony of the first edition of the Oman Innovation Festival, under the slogan (Knowledge – Partnership – Sustainability), which will last for five days at the Muscat Innovation Park.

The first edition of the festival will witness the participation of more than (35) government and private institutions, the attendance of more than (400) participants in the Innovation and Knowledge-Based Economy Forum, more than (85) participants from the Sultanate and abroad in the Energy Hackathon, and more than (1,000) beneficiaries of Training programs and interactive workshops.

The festival will also include more than (50) diverse events directed to various segments of society.

His Excellency Dr. Saif bin Abdullah Al-Haddabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation for Scientific Research and Innovation, said that the Oman Innovation Festival, which is organized by the Ministry, comes within the framework of the Sultanate of Oman’s interest in scientific research and innovation and empowering young innovators in order to advance a culture led by innovation and creativity, thus transcending the limits of the existence of an environment.

A stimulating forum where young creatives and innovators can present their ideas and encourage them to make a positive impact for sustainable development in their communities with their unlimited ideas in the innovation space.

His Excellency stressed the goals that the festival seeks to achieve by mobilizing young people’s talents, providing them with the opportunity to meet their counterparts and supporting bodies from the government and private sectors, bringing together investors and owners of innovation-based emerging companies to build pioneering trade and investment relationships, and maximizing the benefit from specialized training courses and practical workshops in various fields.
