Oman: International Forum for marketing dates kick off on Wednesday

Muscat: The international forum on developing practices for marketing dates will kick off on Wednesday 18 January 2023, and lasts for two days.

The forum is organized by the International Dates Council in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

The forum will cover various aspects of dates production, marketing and promotion. It will discuss benefits that could be secured for all segments of the value chain (the farmers, manufacturers, marketing agencies, traders, consumers) as well as the national economy and the environment—with a view to maintain sustainable growth.

Held under the auspices of Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the forum will be attended by researchers and specialists from academic, research and consultative establishments from Oman and the regional and international arenas.

The forum is also attended by experts in the fields of dates marketing and production, economists, nutritionists and representatives of local and international organizations, government institutions, private sector establishments, embassies and commercial offices.
