    • Oman is considering setting up financial courts

    Muscat:The Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) issued directives to the bank’s executive management to conduct a study on the possibility of establishing specialized courts in financial cases in coordination with other concerned authorities.

    In 2021 alone, more than 7,000 cases of bounced cheques were recorded in Oman, according to the country’s Public Prosecution data. In 2020, the number of similar cases reached nearly 5,000. Bounced cheques cases have been the highest number among crimes regifted in Oman for years.
