Oman Joins UAE in Celebrating 54th National Day

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman today joined the sisterly United Arab Emirates in celebrating the 54th anniversary of the Union, through a celebration organized by the General Secretariat for National Celebrations at Al Khuwair Square in the Wilayat of Bausher in the Governorate of Muscat, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Saba’ bin Hamdan Al Saadi, Secretary General of the General Secretariat for National Celebrations, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Sultanate of Oman.

The ceremony included a visual presentation about the events held annually at border crossings and in Muscat Governorate, along with a musical performance titled “Bounds of Brotherhood” by artist Hamed Suhail, featuring several schoolgirls.

The Royal Army of Oman’s Arabic Ensemble also performed distinctive musical pieces that reflected the deep-rooted relations between the two countries.

The event also featured a selection of national songs, including “We came to congratulate you on your holiday,” “Communication,” “Peace be with us to the people of the Emirates,” and “Welcome,” amidst a large gathering of citizens and residents who filled the venue.
