MTCIT Begins Specialized Semiconductor Training in Partnership with Global Experts

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, in cooperation with international experts, launched today a specialized training programme in the field of semiconductors.

The programme aims to prepare a new generation of national competencies capable of keeping pace with the rapid global developments in the semiconductor industry—one of the strategic pillars of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), communications, and advanced computing.

The initiative provides training on the stages of semiconductor design, production, and testing. The theoretical component will be delivered in the Sultanate of Oman, while the advanced practical component will take place in Taiwan.

Trainees were selected from graduates specializing in electronic engineering, computer engineering, communications, and mechatronics.

Running until 25 December 2025, the programme offers an integrated training plan covering an introduction to the semiconductor industry, fundamentals of engineering design, stages of manufacturing, packaging techniques, and applications of semiconductors in modern systems.
