His Excellency Qais bin Muhammad Al-Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, said that the Sultanate of Oman is looking forward to reaching a free trade agreement with India.

Indian newspapers today quoted His Excellency as affirming during his participation in the G20 trade and investment ministers’ meetings in New Delhi that one of the ways to address the issue of non-tariff barriers and increase protectionism in countries is to adopt fair and equitable trade based on rules to be strengthened in the G20.

The ministers will discuss several topics, the most important of which are WTO reform mechanisms, trade for growth and prosperity, trade logistics services, trade and global value chains, and the integration of micro, small and medium enterprises into global trade.
