Oman Reaffirms Commitment to Integrity and Transparency on International Anti-Corruption Day 2025
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, today marked International Anti-Corruption Day 2025, which falls on 9 December each year.
This year’s observance is held under the theme “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity”, building on the momentum of the 2024 global campaign.
Shabib bin Nasser bin Khalfan Al Busaidi, Director General of Legal Affairs and Head of the Integrity Promotion and Anti-Corruption Committee at the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, said in a speech that International Anti-Corruption Day provides an opportunity for nations to reaffirm their commitment to combating corruption and promoting integrity across all sectors.
He stressed that the Authority places great emphasis on raising awareness among young people about the dangers of corruption and empowering them to spread the values of integrity. He noted that youth possess creativity, critical thinking skills and enthusiasm, all of which make them key partners in building a culture of integrity in society.
Al Busaidi pointed out that since Oman’s accession to the United Nations Convention against Corruption in 2013, the Authority has been working closely with relevant national entities to meet international requirements, adopt best practices and promote integrity.
He added that the Authority helped establish an integrated system that reinforces integrity in society by updating legislation and formulating the National Integrity Plan. The Authority is currently monitoring the plan’s implementation and assessing its impact, in cooperation with the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit.
