Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development today marked World Autism Awareness Day 2026 under the theme “Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value”.
The event was held under the auspices of Dr. Abdullah bin Hamoud Al Harthi, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Persons with Disabilities’ Affairs.
The programme featured workshops and interactive activities aimed at empowering children with autism spectrum disorder by engaging them in community events and showcasing their talents.
The event also focused on promoting the integration of autistic children into society by raising public awareness and encouraging positive interaction.
It further provided guidance to parents and specialists on supporting children with autism, alongside presentations by experts on autism spectrum disorder.
The event was attended by parents of children enrolled in specialised centres, as well as a number of school students.
