Oman maximum temperature reaches 50 degrees Celsius

Muscat: The highest temperature felt on the coastal areas of the Sultanate of Oman reaching 50 degrees Celsius, according to the Oman Meterology.

In a statement Oman Meteorology  said: “The high temperature felt on the coastal areas overlooking the Sea of ​​Oman due to the high relative humidity and air temperature, where the felt temperature in Muscat, Sohar and Saham reaches 50 degrees Celsius.

Please avoid exposure to direct sunlight, especially at noon, to prevent sunstroke and heat exhaustion”

Additionaly, the Oman Meteorology said the activity of the northwest winds today (Saturday) that may leads to the rise of dust and sometimes low horizontal visibility in the governorates of Al-Buraimi and Al-Dhahirah and parts of the governorates of Al-Dakhiliyah, Al-Wusta and Dhofar”

Oman meteorology also said: The latest aerial photos show the flow of high and medium clouds and the formation of cumulus clouds over parts of the Hajar Mountains, in addition to the condensation of low clouds on the coasts of Musandam and Dhofar Governorates.
