“Oman Launches 2026 Media Excellence Competition to Promote Creative Talent
Muscat: The Ministry of Information has affirmed that the Media Excellence Competition serves to enhance creative capabilities within the media sector and reinforces the role of national media as an active partner in achieving Oman Vision 2040.
The Ministry today began accepting applications for participation in the competition. The submission period continues until May 31.
Ibrahim bin Salim Al Salmi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Information, stated in a press mark that the competition aims to highlight and empower national media talents, recognize their achievements, and establish a positive, competitive environment that stimulates creativity and encourages the production of high-quality media content aligned with the rapid developments taking place in the field.
He explained that the Ministry has been committed to realizing the competition’s vision since its launch in 2004, focusing on identifying areas of success and showcasing quality content across the fields of print journalism, radio and television broadcasting, and digital media. Al Salmi noted that a specialized committee will review all entries in accordance with the announced competition criteria, and that submitted works will be evaluated using rigorous media standards. In concluding his remarks, he called upon media professionals to seize this creative opportunity as a platform for nurturing talent and demonstrating the evolution of Oman’s media landscape through its skilled practitioners, innovative ideas, and rich content.
