Muscat: Oman Night Lockdown back from Sunday June 20 as cases increased

In a statement Oman news agency said: The Supreme Committee tasked with tackling developments resulting from coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has decided to impose a ban on movement of people and vehicles, and ordered the closure of all public places and commercial activities (while allowing home delivery service) from 8 pm to 4 am starting from tomorrow Sunday, 20 June 2021, till further notice.

The decision exempts activities and segments excluded from similar ban announced earlier.

The Supreme Committee reaffirms that all health sector establishments, led by the Ministry of Health, are resolute in their efforts to continue implementing “Covid-19 National immunization plan” in accordance with the preset stages and segments. The Committee urges all target segments to take the initiative and get vaccinated against Covid-19 to protect themselves, their families and their communities from this disease.

While appreciating the commitment of many individuals in society and across different establishment to precautionary measures aimed to curb the spread of the disease, the Supreme Committee expresses its astonishment and deep concern at the indifference of some people who continue to hold gatherings for various events in stark violation of the approved procedures. The Committee warns that the (law and order) departments concerned are firm in undertaking (punitive) action adequate in this regard. -ONA
