

Cairo: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Economy, took part in the 112th ministerial session of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League. The session was held at the Arab League Secretariat General in Cairo, Egypt today.
Oman’s delegation was headed by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy.
The meeting reviewed the report of the Arab League’s Secretary General on joint Arab economic and social development action, as well as the economic and social file of the Arab League during its upcoming 33rd session in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
It also discussed preparations for the 5th Arab Economic and Social Development Summit to be hosted by the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in November 2023.
Further, the meeting discussed the latest developments pertaining to the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA), including the Arab Customs Union, the Arab food security report among other topics. – ONA
