Jeddah: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), is taking part in deliberations of the 12th session of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The session’s meetings are held in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The meetings touch on an array of topics listed on the agenda covering the usage of geospatial technologies to support census activities (the 2020 round of the World Population and Housing Census Programme), as well as the development of statistical capabilities through good practices for better e-learning programmes in the field of official statistics.
The attendees review monitoring and reporting on the indicators of Goal 8 of the Sustainable Development Goals (decent work and economic growth). Oman’s delegation was headed by Dr. Khalifa Abdullah Al Barwani, CEO of NCSI. – ONA
