Oman participates in 13th RCUWM board of governors meeting in Tehran

Tehran: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, participated today in the 13th meeting of the Regional Centre for Urban Water Management (RCUWM) Board of Governors in Tehran, Iran.

The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman was headed by His Excellency Ibrahim bin Ahmed Al Maeeni, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman accredited to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The meeting discussed many axes and topics on the agenda, the most important of which is the evaluation of the work and activities of the center for the past period, the work plan for the coming period, and the most important proposed activities among the countries of the center in the field of water resources.

The meeting also discussed ways to implement joint projects and transfer experiences in the field of drought monitoring and forecasting at the regional level, adaptation to climate change, and water management, including water management in urban areas.

It is noteworthy that the Regional Center for Water Management in Urban Areas affiliated to UNESCO is one of the centers launched by the organization in order to lay a basic basis for building the national capacities of member states by contributing to the areas of training and qualification and holding conferences and workshops on water management in urban areas.
