Oman Participates in 15th Meeting of Water Resources Committee in Beirut

Beirut: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources today took part in the 15th meeting of the Water Resources Committee. The meeting is being held by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) from 18 to 22 June 2023 at the Lebanese Capital, Beirut.

Oman’s delegation was represented in the meeting by Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Sa’eedi, Oman’s Ambassador to Lebanon.

The meeting discussed the progress made in achieving sustainable development gaols (SDGs) in relation to water in the Arab region. It also reviewed various activities pertaining to water issues since the last meeting. It discussed topics on improving groundwater management by using innovative tools and explored means of financing water sector.
