HH Sayyid Shihab Leads Oman’s Delegation to GCC Joint Defence Council Meeting

Kuwait: The Sultanate of Oman participated in tasks of the 22nd session of the GCC states Joint Defence Council, which convened in the State of Kuwait today.

The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was headed by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed various topics on the agenda of the 22nd session of the Joint Defence Council. The topics were submitted by the higher military committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces in GCC states.

The ministers also looked into the achievements made within the context of joint military cooperation among member states.

The meeting dealt with matters of significance to promoting the march of the GCC military cooperation a manner that secures the common interests of member states. At the conclusion of the meeting, the ministers stressed the importance of upgrading joint efforts to consolidate military cooperation in line with the objectives set by the GCC leaders.

During the meeting, the ministers took decisions and made recommendations that will be submitted to the Supreme Council of GCC Leaders. HH Sayyid Shihab was accompanied during the meeting by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), and senior SAF officers.
