Oman Participates in 3rd GCC Cybersecurity Ministerial Committee Meeting

Doha: Represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and the Cyber ​​Defence Center, the Sultanate of Oman participated in the third meeting of the GCC Cybersecurity Ministerial Committee, which convened in Doha.

Oman’s delegation to the meeting was headed by Dr. Ali Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology

The meeting reviewed the GCC Cybersecurity Strategy and the launch of a platform for sharing cyber-threat information in member states.

The Committee lauded Oman’s organizing the 1st GCC Hackathon for Cybersecurity Industry Development on 9 September 2024 and the country’s hosting the Regional Cybersecurity Week from 28 to 31 October 2024 in Muscat.

Al Shidhani laid emphasis on enhancing cooperation which, he said, would positively reflect on augmenting cybersecurity levels within member states.

The meeting was attended by the GCC Secretary-General and specialists in the field.
