Doha: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR), took part in the 55th meeting of the Advisory and Regulatory Committee of the GCC Interconnection Authority (GCCIA), which was held in Doha, Qatar.
Oman’s delegation was led by Sheikh Dr. Mansoor Talib Al Hinai, APSR Chairman.
The meeting discussed performance and activities of GCC electrical linkage from the beginning of January until at the end of May 2023, the plan of introducing amendments to the general agreement and the agreement on energy exchange to enable GCC Energy Exchange. The meeting also discussed a plan to provide support to the Advisory and Regulatory Committee.
The meeting also touched on expansion projects of the GCC link grid between the GCCIA and some Gulf countries.
