Bandar: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, took part in the Brunei Darussalam Book Fair.
The participation aims to introduce Omani publications and highlight Oman’s cultural, historical and literary heritage. It also targeted boosting cultural communication between the two countries.
Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of Brunei Darussalam viewed several Omani publications during the book fair’s opening ceremony. He expressed his admirations of the publications, as well as the heritage and cultural exhibits in Oman’s pavilion.
The Minister said that the Oman-Brunei relations extend for more than three decades of active cooperation in various fields, especially in cultural and related fields. Erma Said Al Kithiri, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam said that participating in this event aims to highlight the cultural and intellectual movement in Oman.
This participation, she added, contributes to enhancing cultural ties between the Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam. Moreover, Oman’s pavilion saw a great turnout of visitors from various nationalities. – ONA
