Oman participates in first Climate Health Ministerial meeting at COP 28

Dubai: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Health, participates in the first ministerial meeting on health and climate within the work of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28), which continues until the 12th of this month in Expo City in Dubai.

The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation to this meeting is headed by Her Excellency Dr. Fatima bint Muhammad Al-Ajmiyah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Administrative, Financial and Planning Affairs, and a number of ministry officials.

The meeting will discuss many strategic issues and health technical papers related to the impact of climate change on health and the health response to its change within the context of the G20, and the role of ambitious reductions in emissions in saving human lives, mental health and climate change, in addition to strengthening the role of development banks and institutions for financing health activities related to climate, adaptation and resilience.

To deal with the health effects of its change. The meeting also addresses other topics, including climate-resilient health systems, sustainable health systems with low levels of carbon use and the financing chain, the climate action initiative, nutrition, and health science and research related to climate change.
