Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman took part in a consultative ministerial meeting of foreign ministers held via videoconference, bringing together the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, the Russian Federation and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Sultanate of Oman was represented at the meeting by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister.
The meeting reviewed regional and international developments linked to the ongoing Israeli-American war against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its repercussions across the region.
The ministers discussed the targeting of critical infrastructure in several areas, as well as the growing humanitarian challenges resulting from the conflict. They also addressed the impact on the global economy, particularly disruptions to energy supplies and international maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
The ministers expressed strong condemnation of acts targeting infrastructure and stressed their concern over the wider consequences of the conflict. They also underscored the importance of maintaining regional stability and safeguarding international shipping routes.
