Oman Participates in High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development

Represented by the Foreign Ministry, the Sultanate of Oman took part in the ministerial meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, being held at the UN headquarters in New York from 13 to 15 July 2022.

The forum reviews the “Sustainable Development Goals 2030” and the impacts of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The Omani side was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Political Affairs Undersecretary. The ministerial session was opened by UN Secretary General António Guterres and attended by heads of states and officials representing member states.

Dr. Abdulla Shahid, President of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly received Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Political Affairs Undersecretary. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the forum.

Al Harthy expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s keenness to enhance existing cooperation with the UN. He said that Oman hopes to see more opportunities for the establishment of international security and peace.
