Oman participates in International Silk Road Conference in Russia

Muscat:  The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, is participating in the International Conference of Silk Road experts, which is being implemented by the Russian Federation, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage Protection Convention, in the city of Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, of the Russian Federation.

The celebration included the implementation of a number of scientific conferences for international experts, and the opening ceremony included the participation of a number of those concerned with world heritage in the Russian Federation and the rest of the world.

On the sidelines of the conference, a conference will be held for managers of world heritage sites and a conference for young experts, in addition to a conference on religious world heritage sites.

During the conference, the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman were also praised in its support for the programs of the Silk Road project, and the efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman in introducing the maritime heritage and transmitting it to future generations and its historical role in this field.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is represented in the work of the International Conference on the Silk Road, Muti bin Salem Al-Muti, Assistant Director General of Museums at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, and the national point of contact for the Silk Road project.
