Oman Participates in Meeting of INTOSAI Working Group on the Fight Against Corruption and Money Laundering

Bangkok: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the State Audit Institution (SAI) took part in the 16th meeting of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) working group on combating corruption and money laundering.

The three-day meeting, held in Thai capital Bangkok, looks into endorsing the group’s work plan for the years (2023-2025) in line with the INTOSAI strategy.

The meeting also discusses the progress report of the working group tasked with combating corruption and money laundering, with focus on enhancing capacity building among SAI experts in related areas. It looks into exchanging the best practices and experiences in the field of combating corruption and money laundering.

The meeting will discuss five main guiding principles: The principle of “examining systems of reporting violations”; the principle of “partnership projects between the public sector and private sector”; the principle of “assessing the commitment of the supreme audit and accounting institutions” that are members of INTOSAI; the principle of “surveillance of national systems for preventing and combating corruption” and the principle of “disclosing corruption” (including investigation and audit techniques, tools, resources, and evidence collection).
