Oman participates in mini-ministerial meeting of 13th WTO Ministerial Conference

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP), participated today via video conference in the mini-ministerial preparatory meeting for the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, which will be hosted by the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, during the period from 26 to 29 February 2024.

The Sultanate of Oman was represented at the meeting by His Excellency Qais bin Muhammad Al-Yousef, Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion. During the meeting, the ministers discussed the issue of e-commerce and development issues.

They also listened to the positions of the member states through the interventions of their Excellencies the trade ministers, within the framework of the efforts being made in cooperation with the World Trade Organization secretariat in order for the ministerial conference to be crowned with success and produce positive results that serve the member states.

It is noteworthy that the World Trade Organization was established in January 1995 and includes 164 countries. The Sultanate of Oman joined the organization on November 9, 2000.
