Oman participates in the Palestinian child rights conference in Amman

Amman: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the international conference on “The Role of the International Community and Civil Society Organizations in Promoting and Respecting the Rights of the Palestinian Child” in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The Sultanate of Oman was represented at the conference by His Excellency Ambassador Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States.

The Sultanate of Oman made an intervention during which His Excellency the Ambassador stressed the need to adhere to international law and international humanitarian law in protecting Palestinian children, pointing to the challenges facing children in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression.

The intervention stressed the pivotal role that countries and international organizations must play to put an end to violations and protect the rights of Palestinian children, especially in the areas of health, education and shelter, and to enhance international cooperation to achieve these goals.

His Excellency stressed that the Sultanate of Oman always stands by the Palestinian people, pointing to the firm positions in supporting the Palestinian cause at all regional and international levels, stressing the importance of joint efforts to ensure the rights of Palestinian children.

The conference, which was widely attended by Arab and international officials, ambassadors, political figures and human rights activists, aims to focus on the suffering of Palestinian children as a result of Israeli violations, and to call for strengthening international efforts to protect them and guarantee their basic rights.
