Paris: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Education, is participating in the activities of the international conference: UNESCO Digital Learning Week, which was held at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in the French capital, Paris.
This year, the conference was held under the slogan “Directing Technology in Education” and will continue until September 5. The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation participating in the conference was headed by His Excellency Majid bin Saeed Al Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
UNESCO Digital Learning Week, a major event of the organization every year in the field of digital learning and education transformation, aims to enhance cooperation and exchange of views among education leaders, those interested in digital education, policy makers, researchers and practitioners from United Nations agencies, governments, non-governmental organizations and the private sector in order to promote the digital transformation of education, ensure the ethical use of artificial intelligence, and how to benefit from it in learning assessment, to build educational systems that enhance the relationship between digital transformation and green transformation, empower students and raise their awareness of artificial intelligence technologies, and guide and support teachers to employ artificial intelligence in the educational process.
During the conference sessions, the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman participated with a scientific paper in which it reviewed the experience of the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman in integrating artificial intelligence into school education.
His Excellency the Head of the Delegation met with the Assistant Director-General for Education at UNESCO and a number of experts in the organization in the field of education to discuss enhancing joint cooperation between the two sides.
