Oman Participates in World Seafood Expo in Barcelona

Muscat:  The Sultanate of Oman will participate in the 32nd edition of the World Seafood Expo, scheduled to take place next week in Barcelona, Spain, with broad international participation.

The Omani pavilion will include the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources, the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn”, and the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, in addition to eight Omani companies specializing in fish processing and packaging.

Eng. Yaqoub bin Khalfan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources for Fisheries and Head of the Omani delegation, said that the participation holds strategic importance as the exhibition is among the leading global events in the fisheries sector, bringing together experts and investors from around the world.

He added that the Sultanate of Oman’s participation aims to enhance its presence in international markets, promote high-quality marine products, and explore new export opportunities, in addition to attracting investments and reviewing the latest technologies in fisheries, processing, and marketing.

The exhibition is expected to witness participation from more than 80 countries, with exhibition space exceeding 53,000 square meters, making it the largest edition to date.

This year’s edition will also feature a platform dedicated to startups and innovators in aquaculture, showcasing solutions in marine technology, fish health, and sustainable feed.
