Muscat: The Supreme Committee in charge of examining the mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid 19) decision to ban on all commercial activities and the movement of individuals and vehicles will come into effect from 9 pm until 4 am throughout the holy month of Ramadan, and not hold Tarawih prayers in mosques .
The decision also includes a total ban on all Ramadan gatherings such as “iftars” in mosques and other places such as tents and public councils, and a ban on social, sports, cultural and other group activities during the holy month of Ramadan.
Among the activities excluded from the decision to ban all commercial activities and prevent the movement of individuals and vehicles from 9 pm until 4 am throughout the holy month of Ramadan, the transportation of health workers, emergency vehicles and emergency services (electricity and water only) and workers in private hospitals and pharmacies through the night shift, according to what It is regulated by the Ministry of Health and the movement of ports and airports.
In addition, trucks of all kinds of three tons and above, water tanks, sewage transport tanks and work in factories are excluded, while the movement of employees outside the factory is not allowed during the movement ban and unloading and loading operations in factories and warehouses, while not allowing the movement of employees outside the factory or store during a period.
Also excluded are gas stations on a shift system through the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Investment Promotion in coordination with marketing companies and workers in the oil fields and in public and private press and media institutions who require the nature of their work to attend these institutions during the period of immobilizer in addition to fishermen, beekeepers and food laboratories who have been allowed Subsequently, by a decision of the committee, a permit is issued for them by the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Harrasi, Minister of Information and a member of the Supreme Committee charged with examining the mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid 19), had indicated in the committee’s media meeting with the editors-in-chief of the Oman News Agency and the Sultanate of Oman TV, newspapers and media officials that was held yesterday. He indicated that the committee’s decisions that were taken for the blessed month of Ramadan are “subject to review”, indicating that if the cases decrease, procedures in activities and movement will be facilitated, and if the situation worsens and the cases increase, the decisions are subject to tightening, calling on everyone to adhere to the precautionary measures and reduce gatherings.
