Oman Ranked Second Safest Country in the World for 2026
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has been ranked the second safest country in the world for 2026 according to a new international index issued by U.S. News & World Report.
The ranking assessed 100 countries based on global perceptions of safety, including indicators related to homicide rates, terrorism risks and overall public security. The index also contributes to the publication’s “Best Countries” rankings and Civic Health category assessment.
Singapore ranked first globally, followed by Oman in second place and Japan in third. Qatar ranked fourth, while Vietnam secured fifth place.
The report reflects Oman’s continued efforts in maintaining security, stability and public safety, reinforcing its position as one of the world’s leading destinations for safe living and tourism.
