According to recent statistics released by the National Center for Statistics and information (NCSI), the number of divorce cases in the Sultanate of Oman rises by 8% to 4,160 in 2022 compared to 3,837 in 2021, 3,246 in 2020, 3,728 in 2019, 3,662 in 2018 and 3,867 in 2017.
Muscat Governorate topped the number of divorce cases among the governorates, with 977 cases.
The highest number of divorce cases according to nationality was 3,682 divorce cases between an Omani man and an Omani woman, while the lowest number was 182 between an expatriate man and a woman, while the divorce cases between an Omani man and a woman reached 208 cases.
