Oman records lowest temperature of -2.2°C in Jabal Shams
Muscat: The lowest temperature recorded in the Oman during last 24 hours was -2.2°C, according to the Oman Meteorology (MET), marking the lowest temperature registered in the country so far this winter season.
According to the Oman Meteorology, Jabal Shams station in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate recorded -2.2°C degrees Celsius, which was the lowest temperature among all weather stations during the last 24 hours, followed by Saiq station in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate with 3.4 degrees Celsius and Muqshin 9.4 degrees Celsius. Haima 10.0 degree Celsius, Al Mazyunah 10.3 degree Celsius, Yanqul 11.2 degree Celsius, As Sunainah 11.4, Ibri 11.8 degree Celsius, Thumrait 12.3 degree Celsius, Fahud 12.5 degree Celsius, Hamra Al Drooa 12.5 degree Celsius.
Jabal Shams Mountain, is Oman’s highest peak (over 3,000m) in the Hajar Mountains, is known for experiencing significantly cooler conditions, especially during the winter months, compared to coastal and desert areas.
