Muscat: The total number of fire accidents in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of 2022 AD reached (4,186), according to statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information.
The statistics showed that most of the accidents occurred in residential establishments, amounting to (1,345) accidents, while fires in agricultural establishments amounted to (408) accidents, and in means of transportation, they amounted to (930) accidents, and in companies and commercial establishments, they amounted to (302) accidents.
As for other causes of fires, such as waste accidents, they amounted to 839 accidents, and (234) accidents occurred in electrical equipment, lines, and poles. As for government facilities, they amounted to (50) accidents, and in places of worship (8) accidents, and in industrial facilities, they amounted to (41) accidents.
As for other fire incidents, they amounted to (29) cases. Statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information also indicated that Muscat Governorate came first in terms of the number of recorded fires with (1,307) incidents, followed by North Al Batinah Governorate with (949) incidents, then Al Dakhiliyah Governorate with (435) incidents, and South Al Batinah with (367). ) accidents, and Dhofar (349) accidents, and the number in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate reached (235) accidents, while in the Al Dhahirah Governorate it reached (180) accidents, in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate (177) accidents, in the Al Buraimi Governorate (109) accidents, and in the Musandam Governorate (40) accidents. Two accidents, and in Al Wusta Governorate (38) accidents.
