Muscat: Seven dengue fever case have been recorded in Wilayat of Bausher, Muscat Governorate, Undersecretary of MOH
His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Saif Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs, said in an interview with Oman Tv that there have been 7 cases of dengue fever recorded so far in the Wilayat of Bawshar in the Governorate of Muscat.
“This is not the first time that dengue fever cases have been recorded in the Sultanate of Oman, as cases were recorded in 2019 and 2020 in the governorates of Muscat and Dhofar,” His Excellency added. Dengue fever is transmitted by the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
“Dengue is an acute, sudden viral disease that begins with a fever lasting three or five days, and may be accompanied by sever headaches and pain in the joints and muscles.”
