Oman reserves more than 3 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine: MOH

Muscat: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday in OmanTv: Oman has reserved more than 3 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine of various types so far, and we are working to provide more than five million and four hundred thousand doses by the end of the year.

Indications are that almost normal life will return by the end of this year, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health said.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health: The Ministry of Health will end by immunizing 70% of the Sultanate’s population with the Covid 19 vaccine by the end of this year.

There is a plan to use a health passport to travel between countries and it is under study. We extended the interval between the two doses to 10 weeks.

There is no direct relationship between the AstraZeneca vaccine and the blood clotting conditions that have occurred in some people in some countries.

European studies have shown that a single dose is sufficient to protect against admission to intensive care or death.
We are now at the beginning of the third wave, and we hope everyone will stick to curb the rise in infections.
We urge all citizens and residents to take the initiative to immunize those over 60 years old.
91,000 people have received immunization doses so far.

Oman on Wednesday reported 548 new Covid-19 cases , total cases stands at 148,558, while 3 new deaths reported today take to total 1617 deaths, recovery cases stands at 137,544 cases .
