Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) signed a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding related to investment in various economic and industrial sectors.
This came on the sidelines of the Omani-Saudi Investment Forum held today in Riyadh, KSA.
An agreement of cooperation in the field of tourism and travel was signed between VisitOman Company and Saudi Almosafer Company. This agreement deals with developing and promoting quality tourism experiences in the Sultanate of Oman to audiences in GCC countries and organizing joint promotional marketing activities.
Another agreement of cooperation was inked in the field of automation of research, development and innovation between Oman’s Tanfeedh for Global Business Company and Saudi Clear Vision Company. The agreement aims to develop and integrate technical infrastructure for the management and governance of research and innovation in a bid to enhance transformation towards a knowledge-based economy and boost investment efficiency, in addition to increasing competitiveness and creating job opportunities.
Further, an agreement was signed to implement and operate projects of infrastructure in the mining field between Oman’s international engineering and contracting company and Saudi Tharwat Al Managem Limited Company.
Moreover, Oman’s United Investment and Development company and Saudi Al Rajhi Group Holding inked an agreement to establish a joint investment company to invest in various fields that include oil, gas, logistics, e-payments and information technology.
An agreement of cooperation and partnership was signed between Oman’s Atakamul Aldhahabiyah Oil and Gas Company and Saudi Specialized Industrial Services (SISCO) Company in the field of oil and gas services.
Meanwhile, an MoU was signed between Oman’s Colossal Engineering and Construction company and Saudi Desert Technologies Company dealing with setting up solar power projects in Oman.
Several other MoUs were also inked in fields related to green hydrogen, investing in cultural projects and electrical transformer services. -ONA
