Oman sees 0.2% increase in expat workforce to reach 1.836 million
Muscat: The number of expatriate workers in the Sultanate of Oman reached 1,836,070 at the end of November 2023 an increase of 0.2%, compared to 1,832,729 at the end of October 2023,
The private sector accounted for the highest percentage with 1,449,071 expatriates, followed by the family sector with 337,194, the government sector with 42,836.
According to nationalities, Bangladeshi nationality leads the highest percentage with 725,872, while among Arabs, Egyptian nationality leads with 40,624 Egyptians, and expatriate workers are concentrated in the Sultanate of Oman in Muscat Governorate with 689,428 expatriates.
