

Muscat: The production of refineries and petroleum industries in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 13.5 percent until the end of July 2023, while paraxylene exports recorded a jump of 1,316.1 percent, according to what was indicated by preliminary statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information.
The Sultanate of Oman’s exports of “91” automotive fuel until the end of last July recorded an increase of 31.2 percent, recording one million and 220 thousand barrels, compared to the same period in 2022, while exports of “95” fuel amounted to about 415 thousand and 200 barrels, a decrease of 84.9 percent.
While exports of gas oil “diesel” amounted to about 11 million, 955,900 barrels, an increase of 26.9 percent, and of aviation fuel reached 4 million, 426 thousand and 700 barrels, an increase of 71.6 percent, while exports of liquefied petroleum gas amounted to 369,800 barrels, an increase. Paraxylene exports also reached 311,400 metric tons, while gasoline exports recorded 97,500 metric tons, an increase of 265.7 percent, and polypropylene exports increased by 26.5 percent, recording 147,000 metric tons. In terms of production, statistics indicated an increase in the production of “91” automobile fuel by 27.1 percent, reaching by the end of last July about 9 million 614 thousand and 900 barrels, and its sales amounted to 8 million 292 thousand and 500 barrels, compared to a decrease in the production of “95” automobile fuel.
By 22.2 percent, recording 7 million 200 thousand and 600 barrels, so its sales also decreased to 6 million 908 thousand and 400 barrels. Diesel gas oil production increased by 9 percent to reach 19 million 860 thousand and 200 barrels, and its sales recorded 8 million 112 thousand and 500 barrels. Aviation fuel production also increased by 64.6 percent to reach 6 million 856 thousand and 800 barrels, and its sales recorded 2 million 537 thousand and 800 barrels. barrels, while liquefied petroleum gas production rose by 41.4 percent to reach 4 million 915 thousand and 700 barrels.
With regard to petrochemicals, gasoline production increased by 260.1 percent, recording 93,500 metric tons, while production of paraxylene reached 305,400 metric tons, an increase of 1,700 percent, and polypropylene production increased by 14.4 percent, recording 156,700 metric tons, bringing its sales to 15,000.
