Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, will begin its participation in the World Travel Market 2024 (WTM) exhibition, which will kick off next Tuesday in the British capital, London, and will continue for three days.
The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation is headed by His Excellency Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.
The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the exhibition with a pavilion featuring 32 tourism establishments and hotel facilities, in addition to the participation of many strategic partners such as Omran Group, Oman Air, Oman Airports, Oman Botanical Garden, Oman Museum Through Time, the National Museum and the National Travel Operator.
Haitham bin Mohammed Al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, explained that the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in this important international event comes within the framework of its continuous efforts to enhance its position as a tourist destination, by promoting its diverse tourism assets that combine diverse nature, rich heritage, and unique culture.
He said in a statement to the Oman News Agency: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism aims, through its participation in the exhibition, to showcase its vision towards sustainable tourism, and to review experiences that meet travelers’ expectations, in addition to highlighting promising investment opportunities in the tourism sector, communicating with major players in the global tourism industry, and establishing new strategic partnerships.
He pointed out that the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the exhibition is expected to attract the attention of many visitors and investors, as the ministry will showcase a range of new tourism initiatives and projects that will be available during the exhibition days, and create an opportunity to hold direct meetings between Omani tourism companies and their counterparts from different countries of the world, which opens the way for concluding new agreements and partnerships and attracting more visitors to the Sultanate of Oman and increasing investments in the tourism sector.
He said that the World Travel Market 2024 will witness the organization of many conferences and discussion panels that will address the latest developments in the global tourism sector, including digital innovations, sustainable tourism, and advanced travel experiences, with a focus on future trends in the tourism industry.
It is worth noting that the World Travel Market in London is an annual event and a major platform that brings together major tourism industry players from around the world. More than 4,000 exhibitors from institutions, companies and government agencies representing more than 185 participating countries participate in it, and it is expected that 43,000 visitors will visit the exhibition.
