Muscat: Oman set to receive first batch of Covid-19 vaccine this week.
Badr bin Saif Al-Rawahi, Director of Infectious Diseases Control at the Ministry of Health, said in an interview on the “Akhbarakom” program on Oman TV, the first batch Covid-19 vaccine will reach Oman this week.
He said that several experiments have been conducted on the vaccine to ensure its effectiveness in combating the disease, and the vaccine will be free of charge for the target groups.
Al-Rawahi explained that the target groups in the first stage are the groups most vulnerable to disease, including front-line workers and those with chronic diseases, as the groups most vulnerable to disease complications will start, such as the elderly, diabetics, people with chronic lung disease, patients with kidney failure, and workers in departments Intensive care and care departments for Covid 19 patients, where the vaccine will be in two doses, separated by 21 days, and vaccination centers will be announced during the next few days.
