COVID-19: Oman set to resume Public transport services from 27 September 2020

Oman set to resume pubic transport services starting from September 27th, 2020.

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology said that it was decided to resume public transport services from 27th September 2020, based on the approval of the Supreme Committee in charge of examining the mechanism of dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

“Intercity Public transport services to being on 27th September 2020,

Within cities Governorate of Muscat public transport will start from 4th October, and from 18th of October 2020 in Salalah within cities.

Sohar public transport services will be announced soon, according to the Ministry of Transport statement.

The Ministry also indicated the requirements that must be followed to achieve safety for users and workers :

1, Sterilization of buses before the start of the trip and after its completion.

2, Measuring the temperature of passengers for trips between cities.

3, Wearing a mask while on the bus.

4, Providing hand sanitizers on buses.

5, Achieving the principle of physical spacing between passengers, by preventing two passengers from sitting in two adjacent seats, according to the picture:

6, Avoid touching the handles on the bus

7, Passengers not allowed to stand inside bus, according to ministry of transport statement

Passengers must disclose any symptoms similar to those of Coronavirus disease (Covid 19)
