Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman sky to witness the Geminid meteor shower – which was named after its launch from the constellation of the Twins (Gemini) – and it will reach its climax on Tuesday night and dawn on next Wednesday.
Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al Mahrouqi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Astronomical Society, said in a statement to Oman News Agency: The year 2022 is not ideal for observing Geminid meteors because the waning humpback moon in the dome of the sky coincides with most of its peak activity, which will obliterate most of the faint meteors, but the Geminid are many and bright. So it is possible that there will be a possibility to see some of these meteors.
