Muscat: The Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman condemned the brutal bombing of the Al-Tabi’in School by the Israeli occupation forces on Saturday, which was a shelter for displaced persons in the Al-Daraj neighbourhoods in Gaza Strip. The bombing resulted in the martyrdom of more than 100 Palestinians and the injury to dozens of unarmed civilians in a new list added to the record of heinous crimes committed by the occupation forces against the Palestinian people.
The Sultanate of Oman affirms that targeting schools and civilian facilities constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and international legitimacy resolutions. It renewed its call on the international community to take immediate action to stop these blatant attacks, work to protect innocent civilians, hold the Israeli occupation forces accountable for killings, and impose international sanctions on Israel.
The Sultanate of Oman also reiterated its firm and supportive position on the Palestinian cause and the right of the brotherly Palestinian people to defend themselves and establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the provisions of the Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
