Oman Swimming Association Reveals New Identity and Name Change to ‘Oman Water Sports Association’

Muscat: The Oman Swimming Association announced today, during its general assembly, its new identity and changing its name to the “Oman Water Sports Association”, as part of the federation’s vision to expand the scope of practicing other sports, and in line with the International Water Sports Federation and the five continental federations.

During the meeting held under the chairmanship of Taha bin Suleiman Al-Kushari, President of the Federation, the federation approved its new logo and the new name. The federation’s new logo derives its main elements from the International Federation’s logo that was launched in the past year 2022 , in addition to the fact that the Omani Federation is among the national federations under the umbrella of the International Federation.

The logo includes circular rings symbolizing the six water sports: short swim, long swim, water polo, diving, rhythmic swimming, and high diving.

During its meeting, the Federation’s General Assembly approved the administrative and financial report, activities, events, tournaments, and local competitions for the previous period 2022. The financial budget also approved activities, events, tournaments, and competitions for the current year 2023, which included the provincial championships for short swimming, and the annual Federation Cup for swimming that will be held in November 2023, as well as the championship Oman Open Water Swimming in Duqm.
