Muscat: The Foreign Ministry today held a ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Swiss Confederation.
Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs underscored that the two countries’ leaderships accord attention to bilateral relations and means of advancing them. He also said that both sides are working on boosting relations in various economic, business and investment fields.
Al Harthy valued the Swiss Confederation’s role in the global forefront, being a country that hosts many international organizations, as well as its role as a mediator internationally.
The two countries, he affirmed, share common interests, including their role internationally in bringing conflicting parties to tables of dialogue in a bid to enhance security and stability. – ONA
